Here are some links you may find enjoyable.
First, from Kissing Suzy Kolber here is a nice bit of sarcasm from one of the guys pretending to be Jason Whitlock. The jurty is still out for me with Whitlock. I used to watch him on ESPN's Sports Reporters back in the day and liked him on that. He always putFrodo Mike Lupica in his place. His articles can be edgy but like all journalists he can fall in love with the sound of his own voice or keyboard as it were. I'm so glad I'm not like that. Humility, it's my middle name. You can read an actual Whitlock here. The guys at KSK are very funny but they're writing is rated "R". You've been warned.

Krayton Kerns, DVM
I started working on a ranch in south Phillips County when I was 12. It's a long story of how I ended up there and maybe someday I'll tell it. I spent every summer there from that time until I graduated from high school. I've since been "adpoted" by them as their third son. It's how they introduce me to people I don't know and I do the same for them. They are my parents and I call them Pop and Mother. Pop and my own Dad were the best of friends so the history is long and happy.
Anyway, Pop and Mother's youngest daughter is currently renting a spare room from me. She was in need of a place and though I didn't particularly care to have a roommate, there was no way I was going to turn her out. Her mom and dad are happy that one of her big brother's is around to take care of her.
When I go to Malta, I almost always spend all or part of a day at the ranch. It is my home. It's where I want to be buried. The folks get a publication called the Western Ag Reporter. I will usually give it quick read and go back to talking politics and baseball with Pop.
This year, I've asked mother on a couple of occasions to make me copies or send me articles from the Western Ag that I read when I was home and wanted to keep on file as I begin my assault on the environmental movement. She must have tired of it because she bought me a subscription for Christmas.
This week's issue had a great article by a guy named Krayton Kerns. It was a great read so I linked it here for you. Check out his home page as well. He seems very malconted and would fit in well.

In case you're interested.
I'm sure everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving dinners. I had a great time. Had to friends over who didn't have a place to go so I cooked a nice prime rib roast and we watched football and laughed hard. It was a great day.
Here's some links for you to peruse if you have nothing better to do.
The first one is from a site call Ned Hardy and this link is to a list he has entitled "32 undeniable truths for mature humans". Here's a sample "#23. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I’m trying to finish a text." There's plenty more where that came from.
Over at Filmdrunk the completely awesome Vince Mancini has a red band trailer to a movie being released on December 3rd called "Rare Exports". Here's the plot "A mining company accidentally unleashes a killer Santa Claus who had been trapped deep inside a mountain for millions of years. The Santa Claus goes on a killing rampage, until the townspeople lure him into a trap using a severed pig’s head as bait, and decide to hold him for ransom." I'm definately going to this.
Next up is a little clip I found over at Steve Czaban's place. It's the famous turkey scene from WKRP in Cincinnati. God Loni Anderson was hot.
Over at American Thinker, Tom Roberson has written an interesting piece on Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal. I really like Jindal but if Roberson has done his homework, and I'm sure he has, then I'm all for jumping off the Jindal bandwagon.
A guy at work is always talking about Theo Spark. It's not a bad site. Doesn't really do it for me but some of you may enjoy it.

Give him a read
The other day when I was ranting discussing the hamosque in NYC a new commenter appeared. Rhacolyptus or something like that. We'll just call him the Rhackster. A young idealist. A scientist. He's a liberal but I visited his site and it's pretty well done. A different point of view keeps all of our eyes open and makes us all research what we believe in. It's makes us better debaters as we have to keep up on both sides. Visit him here. Hey, the kid likes the Beatles so he has that going for him.

A site for your viewing pleasure
So as I was rewatching my post about the bully montage. I started wondering "Whatever happened to the chick in this? She was pretty hot. And, well, she had those." So because of Al Gore's glorious invention, I was able to use the internet to do a little research. Her name is Joyce Hyser. I found a nice write up about her here. Upon further review, the blog I found it on looks pretty good. It's call The Moviezz Blog. Check it out. Lots of cool stuff there.

Some light reading
Its always time to talk politics here at Crown on the Rocks. So I went out and found some light reading.
First an article by Byron York about the coming divide in the Democratic party. The thing that is interesting to me is that if far left loons, are there any other kind, keep pushing moderate/conservative Dems out, where will they go? Don't buy into the notion being presented by the MSM about a divide in the Republican Party. GWB took hold of the party when he was in office. He ran on the right and governed in the middle just like his dad. He was better at it than his father so he was able to stay for two terms, but lets not call him a conservative. I never have and never will. He did manage to keep the conservatives from power within the party and that's where the division came from. Now that he is back in Crawford enjoying his retirement, the moderate establishment is being taken to task for their poorly ran campaigns of 2008.
Make no mistakes, conservative Republicans will be back in force in '10. And let this be a word to the wise, if you run as a conservative, you'd better damn sure vote as one. Last night's elections show that this country is already weary of Barry. If he continues down this communist/socialist path, his demise is all but ensured. The damage he can do along the way though will be irreparable. We must hope that health care and cap and trade both go down in flames.
At The Daily Beast there is a nice article by Matt Latimer, a former speech writer for GWB and D. Rumsfeld. It's about how Rush and the others didn't have the ear of the last administration as much as people like to believe. Maybe if they had, we'd be in better shape.
Here's an article about tipping that is pretty good. Goes along with the scene from Reservoir Dogs (I didn't want to post the scene up directly so I just gave the link. Rated "R" for strong language and sexual content but I like how Tarantino writes.

Interesting blogs
Here are some blogs that I read that some of you here might find interesting.
The Conservative Underground is a blog I just started following and its a decent read. There is a great post here outlining the horrible aspects of this legislation.
Over at the Conservative Grapevine John Hawkins does a great job of finding interesting stuff to read so I don't have to. He also runs the Right Wing News.
If you like some sports with a nice conservative political bend then visit Steve Czaban's site. If you can listen to your computer at work then try to stream him in. Here's a link that can assist you there.
If you want to keep up on my beloved alma mater then check out the happenings at Bobcat Nation. It's a lot of fun. One of the moderators is a total dipshit who knows less about sports then the gophers running around outside. Check out who the three mods are, then read some posts they make and see if you can tell me who it is.
I might have mentioned these before and if I sound redundant, so be it. I mean, if I'm saying the same thing over, that's life. If I'm repeating myself, deal with. If you've seen it here before, well, you get the picture.

I'm really lazy lately. Guess I'd rather be playing golf and drinking vodka lemonade then blogging. In a tribute to my sloth, here's some interesting stuff I found on the web. Enjoy.
From Holy Taco a montage of people passed out on the toilet.
From I Heart Chaos comes this report about Indiana Jones 5. Five? Are you shitting me? How much money does Lucas need? Whats the subtitle going to be on this? Indian Jones: The Search for the Golden Dentures.
A great article by Larry Elder exposing the myth on why the vast majority of the "45 million" people who "can't afford" health insurance really don't have it. Larry Elder is great to read. I also recommend his book The Ten Things You Can't Say in America.
Cracked has this funny bit on why people were late for work. Its a bunch of photo shopped picks and pretty good.
A super cool video from Right Wing Video of a honey badger battling cobras and puff adders. Great stuff.
US News has this nifty little article about how to keep your wits when you get old. Read this carefully LP.
From Movie Crunch the ten best comedies of the 1970's. I agree with most of these. However, Airplane has to be on this list.
A commentary from Daily Mail on Orwell's 1984.
Don Surber on why the left ridicules women.
Enjoy your weekend!!

Here's a list of the top 50 sportscasters of all time. I puked in my mouth a little when i saw Harry Caray's name on the list at 18. Am I the only guy who thinks that Caray totally sucked at calling a baseball game. If getting drunk and saying people's birthdays are the standard for being in the top 50 then he should have been in at number 1.

Here's just a quick look at illegitimacy rates in America. The numbers were not of any surprise to me.

A great article about the UAW and why we should hate unions in general. From the DC Examiner.

Does global warming exist? Well, some scientist actually say no. Of course, they aren't after millions in federal research money to spread the myth that can be dispelled by an 8th grader. The same people who believe in global warming are the same people who voted for Barry O and they aren't retarded, they just have a cold. Just a little one.

Further proof of why moslems cannot be trusted and why Islam is more of a cult than a religion. Personally, I don't think we should have interfered in Bosnia, but hey, that's my opinion.

Here's some good stuff from the world wide interweb.
This first one is of the connect four world championships. Completely awesome from Joe Sports Fan.
From the blog "manofest" (quickly becoming a chipshots favorite) is this video on 80's dating tips for women. The video is OK but the write up preceding it is really good. The video talks about how to let a man know your interested. Personally, when you put your hand on my crotch, I can take it from there. That's the sign we're looking for Brian B.

Here's one from Spike about the 10 most important mustaches in the world. Makes me long for the sunny slopes of long ago.

This is from "funtasticus" just pictures of a bunch of bridges from all over the world. Way cool.

Uncoached has this compilation of great shark videos. Totally awesome. Makes me want to take up surfing and scuba diving at the same time. Maybe I could do them both next to a whaling trawler right after it dumps whale guts into the ocean. It also shows how stupid people are. I hate people, especially stupid ones. Very graphic.

Here are a few links to keep you busy.
This first one is from a website called "The Pitch" its about cockfighting and it has excerpts from an actual magazine that was solely dedicated to cockfighting. Thanks to Deadspin for the headsup.

Links for Thanksgiving
Here are some links to look at for the day, weekend or whatever. I'm hoping to figure out how to make this more "cool" like on real blogs. I'm hoping The Prodigy and I can really dress this thing up over the weekend. It may be tough though. Lots of food to eat. Lots of Scotch to drink. Lots of birds to shoot. Lots and lots of football.
I found a sight called "Asylum" and took some of their lists and posted them here. These are pretty good. Enjoy.
Ooops. Before I forget, there might not be a "Top Chef" post this week. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Disappointing I know. It depends what time I get to Sheridan. I'll watch it on a rerun later and post then if I have to. My dedication to pointles drivel that no one cares about except me is boundless.
Church signs: http://www.asylum.com/2008/11/25/bizarre-church-signs-read-the-writing-on-the-wall/
Amazing feats of survivol: http://www.asylum.com/2008/10/09/amazing-feats-of-survival/
Here's a list of fringe presidential candidates. Even the blogosphere is becoming liberally biased. Barry Hussein isn't on here: http://www.asylum.com/2008/11/04/fringe-presidential-candidates-change-were-all-afraid-of/
Former beauty queens, now and then: http://www.asylum.com/2008/09/12/famous-former-beauty-queens-where-were-they-then/
We will keep trying.
