Friday thoughts

I really need a secretary to ride with me when I'm on the road.  Kind of like Van Wilder. "Write that down."  Honestly, my head is going 90 miles an hour when I'm driving.  So here's some stuff.

1) Why did Obama want to be president?  It's a "leadership" position.  He never voted as a state senator or as a US Senator. He is incapable of making a stand. Where I come from the term is "gutless".  I never thought I would wish for Hillary to be our leader.

2) If I saw Harry Reid in a bar or at a restaurant or on the steps of the Capitol Building, I'd challenge him to a boxing match.  They keep talking about how he was a boxer so that makes him a "fighter". All I see is a spineless wimp who would hide behind his wife in a home invasion.

Time for a parody

Here's a little tune I wrote on my way to Sheridan.  It's for the LBOHers.  It's to the tune of "Galveston" with sincere apologies to Glen Campbell

DELMYSPUDS

Delmyspuds oh Delmyspuds
You only take ten pounds of potatahs
Butter and onions and sweet Velveeta
And you gotta where gloves
When you cook Delmyspuds

Delmyspuds oh Delmyspuds
I don't think you're good for my cholesteral
Always double the aluminum foil
Skeets will eat the crisp ones
Cause he loves Delmyspuds

I can smell you cooking by the fire
As Skeets says Jeter's overrated
Just shut up and get my food plated
Another time he's not right, but it's not the first one

Delmyspuds oh Delmyspuds
Slice them thin cause they cook so much better
Always remember you can't use to much butter
But they give Jim the runs
So he can't eat Delmyspuds

MCW Favorite Cop Movie

(Sorry for being late. Screwed up my autopost)

Okey Dokey.  Narrow theme, then a broad theme. I have good news though. In the spirit of the season, I'm going to name the theme for the next TWO MCW's.  Everyone is going to be really busy with all the stuff that goes on this time of year so here's your assignments.  The theme for 12/15 is "most overrated movie". This is a Boxer suggestion and it's a great one.  The theme for 12/22 is (drum roll please)  favorite Christmas Movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. /standing ovation from the blogosphere ensues.

Here's how it works.  Each week I pick a theme, you go out into the world wide interweb and find an appropriate clip, hopefully less than three minutes long, come over here and post that you are up and we all come and see what it is you've done.  Boxer began this and it's up to us to finish it.  Kind of like how the young kids took the herd the rest of the way to town after John Wayne died in The Cowboys. God did I hate Bruce Dern after that.  I don't know if I watched a movie with him in it for like 10 years.

This week's theme was a suggestion from Five Wood.  With the death of Leslie Nielson, he thought a cop movie theme would be good.  I didn't have anything better so I rolled with it.

LBOH Wednesday night photos

For those of you who might be new to this below average blog, here's the quick story.  I was fortunate enough to grow up in the greatest town in Montana, if not the world.  My home of Malta.  I was even more fortunate to grow up with the best group of friends a man can have.  We've been friends since we were 4-5 years old and been close ever since.  After high school and then college, we knew that we had to keep this together so Adrian came up with the idea of one weekend a year that was just for us.  No wives, no kids.  The top of the invitation read "Lonely Bachelors and Oppressed Husbands unite for a weekend of solidarity" and the moniker LBOH was born from that. The party has grown since then and that's even better. This year was our 21st year in a row of getting together.  Here are pictures from Wednesday night.  Just a couple as not everyone was there.  Enjoy.  PS, thanks to Uncle Scott for taking the majority of the pictures that we'll see. A few more pictures after the break.
