Movie Clip Wednesday "Best drunk scene"

It's that time of the week when I search youtube to find the perfect clip for this week's theme for Movie Clip Wednesday.  It's also the same time of the week where I can never find the clip I want.  I wanted to use a scene from Porky's. It's when Meat learns he didn't get the football scholarship, get's drunk and passes out in his chili.  It's nothing we all haven't done at least once. What's that you say?  You've never passed out in your chili? Or a plate of food at all.  I haven't either.  It doesn't look like much fun.  One time back home my brother was at the all night cafe waiting for a table when a fight broke out.  One of the patrons heard it was his buddy and ran outside to see what was happening.  Just as he turned to leave, the waitress served his breakfast.  Brother Bill sat down, ate it and then called out "Thanks for breakfast Barry".  Barry didn't figure it out for a little bit, when he got the bill I suppose.  He laughed hard.  Barry and I were talking about it at Christmas.  Good times.

Then there are a couple of great drunk scenes from "Blind Date" with Bruce Willis and Kim Bassinger. One was on youtube but the quality was so crummy I didn't use it. Of course there's Arthur but you're just asking for a blog jinx.

So in the end I went with a scene from Porky's. There's no drinking but its funny. Its the scene where the old bag gym teacher wants to have a tallywhacker lineup.  I'd forgotten how funny it is.  I just love how all of the men are giggling and the old principal has to hold it together.  He almost makes it.

Head over to Boxer's for more real good stuff.

Never seen Porky's. Not even pieces of it. I must have been in a feminist mood when it first came out, because I later found American Pie to be quite clever.

Happy MCW and I hope your folks were able to return to their ranch.

Fantastic movie! Bob Clark was a genuis! Wow, MOI really got the wrong idea about Porky's if she thought it was Anti-Woman in any way. I'd rate it as 5x better than American Pie.

This is one of the best scenes in the whole movie. "It had a mole on it". Bwahahaha

The Meat being drunk scene was right around the Mike Hunt scene - my favorite. I agree with Moi that this is a guy's movie. And I liked your Brother's story. Free meals don't happen every day.

Happy MCW!

@ Troll: I didn't necessarily suspect that it was anti-women, just pro-dude in a dumb way. Which I have since become fine with, although I have also since become fine with the realization that there are certain crossroads at which men and women should just never meet. Sex comedies that by and large make a spectacle out of little boys losing their virginity are one of them.

Oh, gosh, that sounds awfully Women's Studies of me, but I don't have the energy to change it.

Porkys!!!!! I didn't get my feminist on until my early 30's because Mr.Boxer and I ONLY watched these kind of movies in our early 20's. Nothing inelletual for us! Bwahahahaha. A very young Kim Catrall was also in this movie.

@Moi - American Pie was funny, but it was less innocent than the ones made in the early 80's

OMG, this is the best of the best of the best coming-of-age movies. We had guests over one night and this came on and so I was able to point out to them what real breasts look like ... (those girls over at Porky's)..... wait a minute, come to think of it ... does this movie take place in Troll County??? Ahem ahem.

Princess, the couldn't have made a better choice to portray Beualah.

Moi,
Feminist? You? Shouldn't you be making a pie instead of blogging. hahahahahaha

Troll,
Is it just me or did you find the symbolism in the Jewish kid having the idea to destroy the bar with a pig as it's mascot.

BK,
Ralph and I still say "the sonofbitch does it all the time". The classics never die.

Moi,
Less typy more bakey. hahahahaha, I'm dying over here.

Boxer,
I think this did set the tone for other movies to follow though they did not need to make any sequels. "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" was another movie that was much less subtle the American Pie. Friend Dan wouldn't let his younger sister go to it.

K9,
Porkys is a good movie but your life will still be complete if you never watch. It's not neccessarily a "must see".

Pam,
Yes, this does have the appearances of Troll County.

AB,
Definately a souther flick. One of my favorite exchanges
Tommy (to Mickey) "how come you don't have one of those four word names like Billy Joe Jim Bob?"
Mickey (somewhat agitated) "Hey, I had a cousin named Billy Joe Jim Bob who died the war!"

Funny stuff.

Pearl,
Thanks for stopping by. Careful with those kinds of references. You're kind of dating yourself.
