Movie Clip Wednesday - Best Non-Animated Disney.

Welcome to Movie Clip Wednesday. Boxer continues to shadow box for vodka and is in her busy time so  now I'm driving the bus. "People kept ringing the bell!"

 Most of you know how it works but if you're new here (for which I greatly thank you) here's how it works. A theme is picked each week. You choose a movie to fit the theme and find a clip, preferably three minutes or less, and post it on your blog. Tried for a tough one this week and it was,but I had one in the back of my mind the entire time. It's good to be the meme master.  Old Yeller  and Swiss Family Robinson are great flicks.  How about the original Parent Trap with Haley Mills who I think was my first big screen crush.  Many, many to choose from but my favorites growing up all had the same lead actor, the same main character, the same basic plot and were set at a place where we all wanted to go to college.  That's right boys and girls, I'm talking about Medfield College and one of the greatest trilogies of all time The Computer Who Wore Tennis Shoes, Now You See Him Now You Don't, and lastly The Strongest Man in the World.  Dexter Riley was the hero played by the great and talented Snake Plisken I mean Kurt Russell.

Of the three Now You See Him, Now You Don't is my favorite.  These movies had it all, token you know what guy (not trying to be racist but hey those are the facts), the dumb friend based on Shaggy, cute girl that Dexter could not quite get with, Cesar Romero the bad guy who was always having his plans mess up by those meddling kids.  I love the 70's.



I'm really starting to get pissed off when I find the perfect clip on youtube and it's "disabled by request".  Who would do such a thing?

Homecoming 2010

Your tenth ranked Montana State University Bobcats are taking on the Portland State something or others tomorrow for what should be a beautiful day of football here in the Gallatin Valley.  Our Cats are 4-1 having lost only to Division 1 Washington State when our coaches put their collective heads up their asses and cost the boys the game. That aside.

The Cats blew a 37-10 halftime lead last week against Sacremento State and let them score 35 in the third quarter.  The boys in blue and gold rallied to win 64-61 in overtime to go 4-1.

I think tomorrow they will come out strong.  PSU runs a "pistol" offense whatever the hell that is.  Doesn't matter we have Bignell and Craney back this week. We also have a guy named Denarius McGhee. Kid is a STUD. How happy am I that he is only 5'11".  If he was two inched taller he'd be playing in the soon to be defunct Big 12.

The Cat defense will be pissed off tomorrow.  We've lead the conference in overall defense 6 of the last 10 years and been 2nd 3 times.

Cats win.  The conference title is still in their control.

Meanwhile in Hell.  The demons of the dark pink are playing Idaho State University. ISU took the griz to the wire last year but this year will get crushed 40-7.  This griz offense can score points and ISU's defense won't be up to the task.

 I don't know who Malta played tonight but I'm sure they rolled.

Notre we suck ass Dame is 2-3 and won't go to a bowl game again so they are barely worth a mention except for the fact that they are the most overrated program of the last 20 years. They do not, and will not, get any more space on this blog until they are in the top 15 again.  So I'm thinking that I might have to adopt a son to blog about them sometime in 2030.

Bama crushes South Carolina.  Cats and Malta win. All is right with the world.

MCW Theme for 10/13/10

Alright.  I'm still working out some things for coming up with themes but fear not, I will prevail.  I have some ideas but IMO they are very limited and not everyone thinks like me (a hearty round of "thank God" is heard throughout the blogosphere).

This week's choice should include everyone.  Favorite Disney movie, non-animated.  Everyone has watched at least one Disney movie that wasn't a cartoon so I expected a record amount of particpants.

Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert. Congress said, "Someone may steal from it at night." So they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job. Then Congress said, "How does the watchman do his job without instruction?" So they created a planningdepartment and hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies.

Then Congress said, "How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?" So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people. One to do the studies and one to write the reports.

Movie Clip Wednesday - Favorite/Best Black and White Movie

Welcome to Movie Clip Wednesday. Boxer put me in charge of this meme "temporarily" a few months ago. That's kind of like loaning me a golf club. "Hey, can I try out your driver that you don't hit anymore?"  If that happens the chances are close to zero you will ever see it again.  Its harder than it looked . Keeping this meme going. It reminds of the "Seinfeld" episode where George takes the job parking cars and screws it all up and the guy says "any fool can park a car".

This week's theme, which was posted on Thursday, September 30th, in the year of our Lord 2010 AD, which is plenty of notice for virtually everyone on planet Earth, is favorite/best black and white movie.  When I was a Netflix subscriber, I decided to watch all of the classics I had never seen before.  Like On the Waterfront, A Streetcar named Desire, Citizen Kane and many others.  I made it through the aforementioned along with some other great movies.  As noted in last week's theme Gone with the wind didn't make it into my DVD player.  Anywhoo, though I'm a big fan of Casablanca and Young Frankenstein the movie I consider the best black and white, if not the best thing I've ever watched is All Quiet on the Western Front. I thought it was very well done, especially in the time of overacting.  The scene I've chosen is the ending scene of the movie.  Funny how I couldn't find this scene when the theme was "best/favorite death scene" but that's my luck all the way.

Nest week's theme will be up in the next day or so under the "Movie Clip Wednesday" banner so keep your eyes peeled.
