Tuesday Tunes 5/19/09

I put this together when I was more than a little pissed off (see my previous post) so here's a bunch of sad songs. I wanted to do a sad song list anyway and this just gives me an excuse. The thing about these songs is that they are all huge hits. Alone again naturally was Billboards #1 song for 1972. FOR THE YEAR!! He stopped loving her today is in the top five of all time country songs ever and if you don't believe that then you have a big dump in your pants. Sad, depressing songs. Well, enjoy!

Yikes. Judging from "Hurt" and "Whiskey Lullaby" that's a sad list, indeed.

I tried to post a "Smugglers Songs" from this site at my blog, but it didn't work.

Hope your nameless bad customer runs into trouble!

CT,

Wonder why it wouldn't work. I'm not much of a web master so I cant help. As far as the guy goes. I'm just wishing for rain.

Love the country songs. That and gospel are about all I listen to- sometimes the sad ones feel pretty good. Thanks MRM! You oughta hear James Taylor's version of "She Thinks I Still Care". That one is great to sing some harmony to. :)

Nan,

Just checked for the JT version on playlist and it isn't on there. I'll cruise the net to find it. Thanks.

Milky - I really like this playlist - even though they are all really sad songs.

I might suggest an addition to the list - 'Tell Lorrie I Love Her' by Keith Whitley. I don't know what it is about that song, but it gets me everytime I hear it.

Kim,

that is an excellent song but the last woman who had Mrs. MRM potential was Lori. I'd hate for her to get the wrong impression.
