Movie Clip Wednesday - Favorite Actor from the 1990's
Well, here we are again for another Movie Clip Wendnesday. The great founder of this meme The Glorious Boxer has yet again left me in charge. WHAT WAS SHE THINKING? (right Buzz, just sayin). Anyway as my mind was at a fray last week for coming up with a theme I wimped out and went with "best/favorite actor from the 1990's. My choice is Kevin Spacey. Here's a list of the movies I watched in which he was a featured star American Beauty (Best Actor) The Negotiator, The Usual Suspects (Best Supporting Actor) L.A. Confidential, Swimming with Sharks, A Time to Kill. They were all awesome flicks and great credentials. Two Oscars. Pretty tough to argue. Though he had better performances in a couple of movies, I went off the mainstream and chose him for his voiceover in It's a Bug's Life. I recognized his voice immediately and he brought the sinister, evil charm to Chopper, the head of the grasshoppers.
Here's Spacey laying it out on the line for the rest of the hopper crew. Obama has based his presidency on this speech. Next week's theme is "Best SNL spinoff movie". Thanks to Pam in OKC for this great theme. Happy MCW.
The outtakes.

Kevin Spacey is brilliant. He was a vital supporting role in so many of my favourite movies - most of which are included on your list.
In The Usual Suspects and LA Confidential, he was pivotal to the success of the films.
I had forgotten his cartoon contribution tho. Great fun :)
Im up with a couple of supporting actors too :)
HEy Madman I'm up at The Palais.
Captain Jack and others dropped in for a while.
I really like kevin spaceys acting and his voice work on a bugs life was great.
Holy crap. Blog Jinx!!!! I'm up on my page with Russell Crowe and ..... KEVIN SPACEY. Canape?
My fav Spacey was, "Beyond The Sea".
Your selection however, makes me smile like a kid.
Good afternoon MRM,
Those were some pretty good clips. The only movie I've seen was L.A. Confidential.
I messed up a little on the topic this week I thought it was movie of the 1990s. I'll stick with what I posted though because I think Arnold Schwarzenegger would have been my choice.
I'm up with true lies.
JC, I think supporting roles are his strength though he is good as a lead as well.
Princess, Thanks for playing. Loved your picked.
Pam, I didnt think Spacey would be a blog jinx.
Fishy, "Beyond the Sea" is a great biopic. Spacey did all of his own vocals. I still jam to Bobby Darin late on Saturday nights when its just me and a glass of fine Canadian.
Karl, close enough! Like JLC! Was arguing with a guy how old she was just last week. Now I can call and say I won. He was saying in her 60's and I was saying late f40's maybe 50 or 51. She'll be 52 in Nov. Still in my target age range. I like to keep my options open.
I love A Bugs Life. And Dennis Hopper, may he rest in peace. An exceptional actor, kick ass soul, and darn fine political conservative :o)
I didn't play this week because I'm eyeballs deep in work, but I'll visit everyone who did play.
Moi, Hopper was a political conservative? I liked him before but he's even more awesome now. RIP.
Madman
I'm late because I'm out of town and the schedule is more grueling than when I'm in town. Spacey is a good choice for the 90s. Swimming with Sharks was an incredible movie and my kids really liked Bugs Life. Don't know if I'll have something for next week.
Happy MCW.
No worries Buzz. You gotta do what you gotta do.
