A vacation from my vacation

Well, I used up the last of my vacation before LBOH XX. Went to Island Park, Idaho and sledded for a couple of days. I'm still sore but wish I was there this morning.

This isn't the first time I was stuck.

And this wasn't the last time.
All I know is that next year, I'm buying a 158" long track with 1000cc's of raw hill climbing power. I'm going to titanium that baby out and make it lose 100 pounds and when I hit the top of a hill, I'll be able to clear a Mack truck. BTW, old truckers never die. They just get a new Peterbuilt. Badabump. Thank you. Thank you very much.
Music will be later today. I was to sore to surf the interweb last night.

Tuesday Tunes 3/24/09

Ooops. Its Wednesday. Like I care. Its my blog. I'll the schedule any way I choose and beings I was too busy yesterday to do the research for this week's playlist, I'm putting it up today. If you don't like it you can go pound sand.

The food groups. Music by bands with food in their names or song titles with food in the title. I'm so remarkably clever that I even impress myself. I still remember Brian Ohs singing "Cheeseburger in Paradise" in the shower after wrestling practice. The sunny slopes of long ago.

Enjoy.

Because I'm lazy, that's why

Most of these are from Holy Taco. Check out the funny pictures there. Comments are mine.
This is one of my favorite Bible verses. It's why Luke's version is the best Gospel.

This is funny even with a blasphemy mixed in.

I hate the Cubs. Hate them. Overrated cheap-ass franchise. Overrated fan base. Shitty dirt bag old stadium. If this suck hole of a team was in a crummy market Ryne Sandberg wouldn't be in the Hall of Fame which he does NOT deserve to be in.

Just funny.

Sorry. Didn't' know I did that.

I'm sure our current wimpass of a spineless wuss of a president doesn't even know what the hell this is much less that its for the defense of the retards who voted for him. Is it 2012 yet?

Yes. Yes it is. Poor bastard. He'll have to move to an entirely different part of the country to get away from the grief he will endure for a lifetime.

I love this. Batman bitchslapping Robin doesn't ever stop being funny.

Tuesday Tunes 3/17/09

I'm back from vacation. Here's a breakdown of my stay in Sin City. My plane landed at 10:50 AM Sunday. Ralph's plane landed at 11:30 AM. We left the airport at 4 PM and it wasn't because we couldn't find a ride.

It was a good time. I only lost about $100 gambling. Thank God the Bobcats played so great in the Big Sky tourney last week. I won on them twice. Wayda cover 'Cats.

This week's playlist is a tribute to the 51st state. You all know it as Canada. Yes, our beloved liberals of the north have actually put out some pretty good music. Hey, when you don't have to have an army, navy, air force etc., because your big brother to the south is the baddest MF on the planet, I guess you can pump out some good musical talent.

I left Rush off this list. Why? Because they suck, that's why.

I doubled up on Burton Cummings because I like him a lot. If you get a chance, see if you can find a copy of the movie "Melanie". It's a chick flick with Glynnis O'Connor and Burton but still pretty good. I also double on Barenaked Ladies because I like both of those songs.

Alanis Morissette sings "Thank You". Her second album was not near as angry. I guess all that money made up for her getting burned by that dipshit from "Fullhouse".

Lastly, this music is dedicated to The Big 8, CHAB in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Its the radio station I grew up listening to and it introduced me to all of these great bands and artists.

I cried when Terry Fox died. So did the DJ on CHAB when he broke in to tell the story.

Here's the playlist. Enjoy.

A well deserved holiday.

This is my last post for a few days. I am taking a well deserved holiday before the busy season of my industry is upon us. I need to relax, take a few days off, let the batteries recharge. Where do I go? Where do I go? VIVAAAAAA LAAAS VEGAS, VIVAAAAAAA LAAAS VEGAS! VIVAAAA, VIVAAAA LAAAAAS VEEEEEEEEGAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its a good thing Ralph is meeting me down there. Without the "voice of reason" on this trip it could get pretty ugly. But I have Ralph to lean on so I'll be just fine.

So. No Mute Monday. No Tuesday Tunes. No link dumps which say that our current president cant talk unless he's reading a teleprompter. I don't have to wear long john's for 4 days. I actually get to wear a short sleeve shirt maybe.

Take care dear readers. I'll see you next week.

The Amazing Tragedy

The explosion of yesterday was tragic. A young woman lost her life. Many old buildings have been or will be destroyed. I'm talking buildings from the early 1900's hundreds. However, it is utterly amazing to me that not one other person was even injured. I've seen no reports of anyone being hospitalized or treated for injuries of any kind other than the young woman who is still being reported as missing.

Not a broken leg, no one airlifted to Billings, not a stitch from broken glass. Nothing. It's amazing when you think about it. One dead. That's it. This think could have happened at another time and it could have cost upwards of a couple hundred people their lives. The fact that there is only one presumed dead is utterly mind boggling to me.
Good article from a couple of the witnesses.

Explosion Rocks Bozeman

This kind of thing doesn't happen here and shouldn't happen anywhere as far as that goes. . I've been drinking at the Rocking R Bar since before I moved here and the Boodles Restaurant owner and I partied at the Daytona 500 together as well as his joint and wherever we may have run into one another. One person is still missing. As sad as that is, it could have been far worse as there is plenty of traffic, both car and foot, on main street at 8:15 in the morning.
Rumor mill is already telling me that every building on that side of the street (on that block) will have to be knocked down as they are structurally unsound. I know owners of half the businesses on that side of the street. That's because I like to eat and drink.

Tuesday Tunes 3/3/9

Here's this week's playlist. The theme is "family". The performers are siblings, have siblings in there band or are married (or at least were). Speaking of which. Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. have been married for 40 years. You seldom see anything in the entertainment business last that long. Hmm, wonder if the fact that they're good Christian folk has anything to do with it. Nah, probably not. I wonder if she's ever had a day when she looked bad. Congrats to them on 40 years together. Happy listening.

This is profound....

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom.

What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

~~~~~ Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931 - 2005 ~~~~~
