Why post this Lineup card? Becuase Bob Sheppard, the Public Address Announcer for the New York Yankees is hanging up his Microphone at the young age of 99, after 57 full years, and the last 2 in Semi-Retirement, citing "I think time has passed me by...." oh and how that time has passed unforgettably for those who have experienced the chills of hearing what Reggie Jackson has often reffered to as "The Voice of God". Thank you Bob Sheppard!
While I am not a New York Yankes fan, nor a hater of the Pinstripes, I am a fan of History, and the events this man has seen inside the Facade of Yankee Stadium are truly remarkable. While it isn't the moment I will forever remember in sports as my favorite; (The 7th inning stretch of Game One of the World Series 2001 in New York City after the 9/11 attacks.) This clip of Ronan Tynan singing God Bless America at the last game played in Yankee Stadium is pretty cool as well. If you listen carefully you'll hear Bob Sheppard announce Mr. Tynan in the background.

Or try this one on... Following the death earlier that year of Yankee Legend Joe DiMaggio, Bob Shepard recreated and announces the Lineup card for Game 6 of the 1951 World Series that was the last game played by "The Yankee Clipper".

And Chip... This is precisely why Derek Jeter is the Shortstop and Captain of The Yankees. He asked for Bob Sheppard's persmission and requests the Yankess play a recording of Bob Sheppard announcing him in the Batting Order at every game at Yankee Stadium. I don't care who ya are, that is Fuckin Cool! And that is why, even when they have 3 guys in the show, and 5 kids in the farm system that are better fielders, Derek Jeter remains the Captain of the Yankees and the starting shortstop.
Farewell to you Bob Sheppard... Farewell! Many years of Happy Retirement!

Happy Thanksgiving dear readers.
I am thankful for my great family and friends. My warm, dry house. My great job, where I live, my beautiful loving dog and BG.
Going duck hunting tomorrow at 7 AM with Tommy G. Then to Butte with the BG.
It will be a bluebird day.
I wish you all the best.
Chip

I gues there is always next year.
It's been since Saturday since my beloved Bobcats fell to the minions of hell from armpit of Montana. I've anguished long enough. I knew the griz were better than the Cats and thought my alma mater would do well to be within 10 points, but having watched the game the Cats were much closer talent wise than I thought. The griz have a slight edge at the skill positions. There receivers do a better job of catching and holding onto the ball and their QB is more accurate than MSU's. However, the difference in this game was not in the players but on the sidelines. The griz and a better game plan for us offensively than MSU did for them.
Why the Cats didn't run the ball more is anyone's guess. My opinion is that Mason could have went for 150 yards if they had kept giving him the ball. The Cats shut down Mariani receiving and Reynolds rushing but Mariani had 80 yards in punt returns. Putting Iddins in at QB to start the second quarter was just plain stupid.
Coach Ash needs to get more aggressive and have more confidence in his running game. If he had stuck with Mason the passing game was there for the taking. Instead, he ran the same 5-6 passing plays and the griz were there waiting.
It will be a long winter, longer if the griz win the national championship. Bobby Hauck is still a prick, but he's a good football coach. I will be rooting my ass off for South Dakota State on Saturday. I ask you all to do the same.

Aesops Fables
Thanks to Uncle Scott for sending this.
The ant works hard in the withering heat and the rain all summer long, building his house
and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why
the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving.
CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.
America is stunned by the sharp contrast.
How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?
Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, ' It’s Not Easy Being Green. '
ACORN stages a demonstration in front of the ant ' s house where the news stations film the group singing, "We shall overcome " . Then Rev. Jeremiah Wright has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper’s sake.
President Obama condemns the ant and blames President Bush, President Reagan, Christopher Columbus, and the Pope for the grasshopper’s plight.
Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.
Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.
The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar and given to the grasshopper.
The story ends as we see the grasshopper and his free-loading friends finishing up the last bits of the ant ' s food while the government house he is in, which, as you recall, just happens to be the ant ' s old house, crumbles around them because the grasshopper doesn’t ' t maintain it.
The ant has disappeared in the snow, never to be seen again.
The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the ramshackle, once prosperous and once peaceful, neighborhood.
The entire Nation collapses bringing the rest of the free world with it.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2010

Hey, how about a little help?
For any of you females in Missoula, this is how you do it. For more help, there are some great instructional videos on you tube. You are welcome.
A great parody
For those of you in the sales world, like me, this is a great parody from the court room scene of A Few Good Men. Skip up to about the :45 second mark.
ITS ON !!!!!
In Helena (supposedly)
The time draws near. As I type these words, our town is being invaded by hippies. Hippies, malcontents, tree-huggers, liberals. The whole nine yards. They'll be drinking their dark beers and singing their horrible fight song. I am weary of them already. Tomorrow the great unwashed will enter our stadium and bring their dark pink sweatshirts with them. The horror.
Coach Bealzebub Hauck prepares his team.
We must prevail. The Earth depends on it. First Obama and now a 12th straight conference title for the minions of hell.
